Famous Last Words lyrics
March 15, 2008
With only seconds left to breathe
He breathed out these last bits of life
“I can leave this world with the knowledge
that I have made a change in this world
No matter how small
I have touched lives in ways not realized
I have given hope to the hopeless
Life to the lifeless,
And I can leave this world in peace.”
These are our famous last words
Why do these things always seem to hurt
We’re just trying to change our world
These are our famous last words
People in our world
Fail to take
Time to pay attention
There’s a need for something more
There’s always a need for something more
Let’s try to change this world
For these are our famous last words
Famous last words
These things always hurt
Famous last words
Everybody’s tryin’ to change the world
And now there’s a need for something more
People in this world fail to take the time
To pay attention
And now there’s a need for something more
Famous last words
Why have things always hurt
Famous last words
Do you want to change this world?
People in this world fail to take time
To pay attention
Famous last words
I got myself into this mess
I’m settling for less
I wanna turn time around
I’m gonna make things better this time around
It’s never too late to forgive
It’s not too late to live
Now you’re gone
You left me in pain
I’m stuck here
But what lingers is your name
But it’s too late
You’re gone
But it’s too late
You’re gone
All these regrets
Wish you’d just forget
About what I said
So we could get through this, again
All these regrets
Wish you’d forget
About what I said
So we could get through this, again
Barbara Hughes’ SunClasses, “Power of Music” Series is designed as an after school program for teenagers 12-18 years old. Proceeds to benefit a new Community Library in Camp Verde, Arizona, and future students of the program.
Special Thanks to my friend Kathleen Lew, who got the ball rolling for me in Camp Verde in many areas, Amber Polo my friend, mentor and amazing publicist for the program, my sister Lynn who was a key component in working with the teens and designing the program, all the staff at Camp Verde Community Library, all my friends at Kiwanis International of Camp Verde, Chris Shultz, Principal of Camp Verde High School, and Greg at Sweet 16 Recording for his incredible patience. Congratulations also to the parents and teens who have been amazing with their support and may I be so lucky in future classes.
Keep believing in yourself!
Love,
B. Hughes
